Getting to Tilburg

Some travel routes and advice (for different budgets) 

Tilburg is located in the southern part of the Netherlands, right between Rotterdam and Eindhoven, and close to the Belgian border. The city is easily accessible by train, by bus, from the highway, and by air.

The conference will take place at the MindLabs building, centrally located at Locomotiefboulevard 101, 5041 SE Tilburg, The Netherlands.

The MindLabs building is used by Tilburg University — together with some other organisations —, but the campus itself is located in the Western part of the city. 

Getting to Tilburg by train  

You can easily reach Tilburg (and the MindLabs building) by train. Tilburg Station is the central train station. There are direct trains from many major Dutch cities to this train station, including the airport city of Eindhoven. From Tilburg Station it's only a 2-minute walk to the conference center.

Getting to Tilburg by bus 

Taking the bus is the most budget-friendly way to travel to Tilburg. Flixbus has routes from most major cities in Europe, and the bus stop is centrally located, just 5 minutes from the MindLabs building, where the conference is held.

Getting to Tilburg by road 

The Netherlands is well connected by road, making it easy to drive to Tilburg.  

Taxis are quite expensive in the Netherlands, so be aware of this when you order one. It’s a good idea to ask the driver for the price before you get in. There is a law that regulates maximum prices. Hence, the maximum initial fee for an ordinary taxi is 3.60€/3.84$, the fare per minute is 0.44€/0.47$, and the cost per km is 2.65€/2.82$. Payments can be made in cash and via debit/credit cards. 

Getting to Tilburg by air 

To travel by plane to Tilburg you can fly to Amsterdam Schiphol airport (AMS), Eindhoven airport (EIN) or Brussels Zaventem airport in Belgium (BRU). 

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS):

When flying into Amsterdam Schiphol Airport you can reach Tilburg by: 

• Train (about 1 hour and 30 minutes) 
• Car (2 hour drive)

The train station and rental car pick-ups are in the airport terminal.

Eindhoven Airport (EIN): 

Eindhoven airport is a regional airport, and the closest airport to Tilburg. When flying into Eindhoven Airport you can reach Tilburg by: 

• Car (Rental car companies at Eindhoven airport are Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt) 
• Bus and train: A bus to Eindhoven train station followed by a direct train to Tilburg Station (total time approximately 1 hour)

Brussels airport (BRU, Belgium):

Brussels has two airports (Brussels Zaventem and Brussels Charleroi). Brussels Zaventem is the most convenient and ideally located with a good train connection between Brussels and Breda (a city near Tilburg).

When flying into Brussels Airport, you can reach Tilburg by: 

• Car (about 1 hour and 30 minutes) 
• Taxi

Visa requirements

Some participants may need to procure a visa to travel to the Netherlands. Please check the requirements here.

We can provide an invitation letter for visa purposes after registration and payment have been completed. If you need a letter to attend ADDA 5, please write to adda5@tilburguniversity.edu. If you need a letter to attend CBC25, please write to cbc2025@tilburguniversity.edu.
