Have you ever wondered what the Italian political thinker Antonio Gramsci would think about the internet (and all the crazy stuff we use the internet for) if he had been alive today? Well, we have thought about that, and so has Professor Jan Blommaert from Tilburg University. According to him, the famous Italian communist theorist would have been both excited and extremely worried. The internet today has become a huge weapon in 'the battle for ideas', and it's not the proletariat that appears to be winning.
