Monika Nemcová

I am a graduate of the Global Communication Master's program at Tilburg University in the Netherlands, after finishing a joint honours Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and Journalism and Social Anthropology at Masaryk University, the Czech Republic. My Bachelor thesis was a radio feature about Slovaks living on the Polish borders. During my studies in the Czech Republic, I also volunteered as a presenter in a noncommercial community radio. Besides that, I studied in Istanbul, Turkey, for one semester, which strengthened my interest in culture and diversity. In my Master’s thesis, I have observed how the new media are used in maintaining transnational relationships. Currently, I focus on diverse topics in the field of communication, including the media communication, migration, transnational communication, as well as, linguistic and cultural changes.
