Rosalyn Negrón
Biography
Rosalyn Negrón, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Massachusetts Boston, specializing in urban, linguistic, and medical anthropology, with a focus on Latino studies. Broadly, one strand of her work is on the interpersonal dimensions of ethnicity in superdiverse cities, and how people bridge ethnic boundaries through language. Beyond academia, Rosalyn is interested in electoral activism and grassroots social movements. As a “super-volunteer” she lead the research teams for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s 2018 campaign and for Justice Democrats’ 2019 recruitment efforts. For Diggit, she will write on how issues of diversity, immigration, race, grassroots activism, and digital media play out in U.S. politics.
