Sukran Ceren Salali
Biography
Sukran Ceren Salali is a sociology graduate from Boğaziçi University, Istanbul.
After graduating from highschool in 2009, she has participated in the International Student and Culture Program - AFS, and lived in Gent, Belgium for a year.
She has also joined in a peace project, SIW Netherlands - International Volunteer Action for Peace ( SIW Internationale Vrijwilligersprojecten), by taking part in presentations and discussions about peace and anti-racism in the Netherlands in 2012.
In 2014, she decided to apply for the Erasmus Training Program. She has worked as Art and Communication Fellow at Value Communication AG, a research and knowledge mediation service provider based in Mainz, Germany. There, she had chance to engage in an art project, and published an e-book named as "The Real Value of Communication" which contains short clips of Mainz taken by her, her articles and interviews with politicians, artists and international students in Mainz.
Her main academic focus covers subjects such as women and gender studies, visual and social anthropology as well as media and film studies. She is a cinephilia which made her became the president and an active member of Boğaziçi University Film Society between 2010-2013.
At this moment, she is doing the Master's degree of Culture Studies on track of Art, Media and Society at Tilburg University in the Netherlands.
Research and interests
women and gender studies, visual and social anthropology as well as film and media studies. especially interested in self-fashioning and self presentation as a part of everyday practices within the tension between public and private realms.
