Stefan Voeten
Biography
Born in 1993, Stefan Voeten graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Education in History at Fontys Tilburg in 2014. Currently he is studying at Tilburg University in Culture Studies, on the master track Art, Media and Society.
He has a broad academic focus, which results in a great range of research interests varying from history and philosophy to arts and media studies. He is especially interested in self-fashioning as well as research on Nietzsche.
His writings include topics such as the philosophy of Nietzsche, Levinas, and Gude, self-fashioning and self-representation with Nietsche and Robert F. Kennedy, the media-treatment of Muhammad Ali, the relation between the paintings of Waterhouse and the poems of Tennyson, as well as studies on the writer Tavares, movies such as Moulin Rouge! and Monsieur Lazhar, or television series like True Detective and Twin Peaks.
