I am Berfin Karakeçili. I was born and raised in Ankara, Turkey. I now live in Tilburg, Netherlands. I consider myself as hard working and research oriented. I finished my masters at Bilkent University on Media and Visual Studies. I am currently a master student at Tilburg University in Global Communication. I am interested in political science, social movements, everyday life and their relationship to media. I am also interested in lifestyle movements which does not have a huge role in the literature yet, but it is getting stronger. During my studies in Media and Visual Studies program, I had the opportunity to question and criticize the world by being research oriented and thinking analytically. The courses I have been attending and scholars that I have read broadened my point of view to life. I would like to continue my life with the goal of learning and accordingly my aim is to start producing new perspectives for understanding and analyzing the world and hopefully being able to share my perspective with other people. I believe that the Global Communication program offered by Tilburg University is a big chance to improve both my academic and professional skills. In addition to my enthusiasm to learn more about media studies; choosing studying on this area as a way of life is important to me. As I mentioned before; I believe that studying and contributing to this area can make me happy which can make me successful. Working hard for an area that you want to become a professional, who improves one's personality as well as others while contributing to the literature. All in all; my motivation to continue my higher education is my passion to study on cultural studies and my aim to use my education in a way that other people can get benefit from it while I continually improve myself.

I enjoy being around and getting in touch with different people from different countries. I like to know different personalities. I also enjoy travelling a lot since it provides an amazing chance to get to know different cultures. In the globalized world; travelling became a lot easier and I enjoy feeding myself through learning cultures that are strange to me.
